April Fool’s Day

Every year on April Fool’s Day, the rich Desiree Cartier gives a huge party in her mansion and every time she sets up a huge prank. This year, however, the party gets spoiled by an uninvited guest: a deranged and ruthless killer.

Sound and Vision:
We get an excellent transfer with vivid colors, plenty of detail and an overall good image quality that’s free of compression errors.

The 5.1 soundtrack has clear dialogues and good use of the surround speakers and subwoofer for effects and scary moments. Nice.

Extras:
None

Conclusion:
Hollywood is working hard on doing remakes of all its classic horror films and April Fool’s Day is the latest to pass the revue. Although the storyline is very predictably filled with all possible clichés and the acting mediocre, this direct-to-dvd remake does manage to entertain a bit thanks to the director’s work and the plot twist at the end. A small suggestion for the fans of the genre, but certainly not a must-have.

Our Score:
5.0
