Castle – Season 3
At the end of Season 2 of Castle, our favorite mystery writer went off to the Hamptons and spend time promoting his new book featuring Nikki Heat.
Season three sees Castle returning to the precinct where Beckett works and taking up his usual act, following her and help solving crimes. This time these include a dead psychich who predicted her own murder in a letter, a funeral with two bodies in the casket, a notorious serial killer returning to New York, and an old friend of Castle being the lead suspect in the murder of his wife.
Sound and Vision:
Season 3 of Castle has reasonable image quality but there are quite a number of scenes where aliasing is overly present. Also some grain was spotted here and there.
The sound does a nice job for a TV show. Without blowing you away, the track creates a dynamic atmosphere with good use of the surround speakers for some effects and music.
Extras:
– Deleted Scenes
– Murder They Wrote
– Castle Goes Hollywood
– Bloopers
Conclusion:
The third season of Castle manages to keep up the high standards set in the first seasons. The sparkling relationship between Castle and Beckett remains the most fun item to watch, especially with the return of Castle’s ex-wife and Beckett having an affair with a doctor. Next to that we get one episode where the murder of Beckett’s mother gets brought up again, another writer following Castle as he follows Beckett, and the lead actress for the upcoming Nikki Heat movie following Beckett as well. All great stuff for another terrific season of a show that puts a smile on your face, episode by episode.
Castle remains an original detective show that runs on the interaction between Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion but manages to keep things feeling fresh all the time. Another excellent season that makes you long for more!
