Criminal Minds – Season 3

In season 3 of Criminal Minds our profilers get again a bunch of interesting cases to put their teeth in but this time some of their own get into danger. Also, Jason Gideon has had enough after the second season and decides to stop his work. Luckily, legendary profiler David Rossi sees the time right to halt his retirement and go back to profiling but this because he’s got some unfinished business he wants to rap up…

Sound and Vision:
This third season comes with improved image quality compared to the previous seasons. The grainy image is almost completely gone and compression errors is something we didn’t spot at all.

The sound is still as good as with the previous seasons meaning subtle but decent use of the surround speakers and subwoofer while keeping crystal clear dialogues.

Extras:
– Profile: Rossi/Mantegna
– Shemar Moore: The team of Criminal Minds on bike
– Gag Reel
– From Script to screen: “True Night”
– Murder roles
– The Criminal Element: Criminal Minds season 3 Making Of

A nice collection of extras for the fans of the series.

Conclusion:
This third season sees the departure of Mandy Patinkin (aka Jason Gideon) but his leaving is quickly filled up by the entrance of Joe Mantegna who does an excellent job playing the legendary profiler David Rossi. Mantegna nicely fills up the gap that Patinkin left and adds some additonal dynamics that bring enough new juice to the series to keep it interesting. Add to the good storylines as well as the personal involvement of the characters in some cases along with a couple of unexpected plot twists and you’ve got another great season that any lover of cop shows should definitely not want to miss.

Top stuff!
