Movie:
David Norris is an ambitious politician who's running for Senate. He loses the race, but while preparing his speech to accept his loss, he meets Elise Sellas, a woman he immediately falls in love with.

Unfortunately, it wasn't meant for the two to be together so quickly after, men of the so-called Adjustment Bureau make it clear to him that he's got no choice but to let her go and continue on the path that was set out for him from the beginning.

Being a man who stands for free will, David isn't ready to accept this...

Sound and Vision:
The Adjustment Bureau comes with a distinct style of photography that will make it doesn't have much of a wow factor to it. Still, technically there's nothing wrong with the transfer and things look decent with good depth, stable contrast and healthy skin tones. Nothing special, but technically definitely ok.

The same can be said about the audio. It does its job well and there's technically nothing wrong with it, but it isn't anything to remember.

Extras:
- Audio commentary track by director George Nolfi
- Deleted scenes
- Leaping Through New York
- Destined To Be
- Becoming Elise

Conclusion:
The Adjustment Bureau is an entertaining movie that's slightly based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. Unfortunately, the ending is a bit of a letdown and doesn't quite live up to the expectations that have been built during the rest of the movie.

Also the trailers are a bit misleading as you may be expecting quite the action thriller, while in effect The Adjustment Bureau is more of a romantic movie with some sci-fi and thriller elements in it.

All in all we can suggest giving it a rental but it isn't anything worth remembering.

PRO

  • Image & sound are decent though not spectacular
  • Same goes for the movie overall

CON

  • Extras aren't really extensive or in-depth

jup, niet slecht, maar had er meer van verwacht. Goeie opzet maar naar het einde toe is de pay off net iets te weinig.
