Movie:
Any Given Sunday tells the story of The Miami Sharks and their problems during one season in the American Football League.

Al Pacino is the tempered coach Tony Damato who has to keep his team running when the quarterback (Dennis Quaid) gets hurt and rookie Willie Beamen (Jamie Foxx) has to fall in while Cameron Diaz as marketing-driven manager is making is life miserable. Beamen becomes the public’s favorite and gets problems with his ego and his team mates. Damato brings him back on his feet and he becomes the best quarterback the team has ever had.

Although it sounds as a simple story like 90% of all sports movies, Any Given Sunday has several lines going through the movie with the problems of the coach keeping the team together, Beamen with his ego, and Dennis Quaid as a quarterback who is seeing the limits of his age blocking his career.

Sound and Vision:
The image quality is very good in 16:9 (2.35:1) and the sound quality is superb. The pounding of your subwoofer when players hit each other, Pacino shouting out loud and the shearing of the audience make this DVD a feast for your ears.

Extras:
For extra’s we get a free second disc which has extra deleted scenes with optional commentary by Oliver Stone, 3 music video’s, a documentary that shows the making of Any Given Sunday, a spotlight on Jamie Foxx including screen tests and an audition tape, a photo gallery and next to that also a bunch of extra’s that you can play on a DVD-rom like a scoreboard and a couple of games.

Conclusion:
Oliver Stone as director, Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, James Woods, Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J as cast. This movie can’t go wrong.
