Fixer, The
After having killed his grandparents for having sexually molested his sister back in her childhood, former Special Forces operative John Mercer gets sent to jail where he expects to spend the rest of his life.
However, that’s without counting on Lenny Douglas. Douglas runs a secret government operation that takes care of people who the law can’t touch. As such, Mercer gets offered to be released, have a new life and be able to spend time with his sister and all he has to do is accept to become a government hitman.
Sound and Vision:
This BBC series has pretty decent image quality with good contrast and realistic color use. The level of detail is good although not fantastic but what would you expect from a TV show?
A similar thing can be said about the sound. Dialogues are clear and understandable but the soundtrack doesn’t use the speakers all too much
Extras:
None
Conclusion:
The Fixer is an interesting series about a subject that isn’t so common. The combination of the convicted murderer being hired by the government as hitman isn’t completely original, but the high focus on the personal life of John Mercer makes this series stand out of the crowd. The overall acting is pretty good but it does take a couple of episodes before you’re really into it and then it’s almost over already.
Let’s hope a second season gets made with a couple more interesting storylines to follow
