Frank Herbert's Dune

Dune, a planet of sand and desolation, whose sole wealth is the most prized and sought after item in the universe Spice. For the sake of the Spice, Atreides and Harkonnens, the two most important houses of the Empire, wage a fierce battle against each other: Only Paul, the heir of the Atreides, and his mother survive the massacre organized by the Harkonnens with the secret support of the Emperor. They are taken in by the Fremens, a desert whose dream is to transform Dune into a fertile Planet. To satisfy his desire for revenge, Paul must first assimilate the Freemens ways, neturalize the smugglers, and a last attack the Harkonnens.
