Green Hornet, The (2011)
Britt Reid is the son of newspaper tycoon James Reid who owns The Daily Sentinel. Britt’s life is filled with little more than partying, sex with beautiful girls, and waking up with a good cup of coffee besides his bed. When his dad dies unexpectedly, he meets his dad’s mechanic Kato who’s also good at making coffe, playing piano and martial arts. The two get off pretty decently, but when boredom strikes in, Britt comes up with the idea the two should become vigilantes who act as criminals while trying to save the city. This, however, is against the plans of Chudnofsky, the local crime boss who wants to rule the city…
Sound and Vision:
We get a slick and sweet image that is stunning to watch. Deep blacks, perfect contrast, a dark atmosphere that still has colors popping from the screen, … Sony has done a terrific job with this transfer.
The same can be said from the sound which is very active and uses all channels to their potential to make for a stunning experience that puts you in the middle of all the action. Demo-material!

A couple of short features which mostly have people talking about how great things were making this movie.
Conclusion:
The Green Hornet is a comedy based on the classic Bruce Lee series from the 1960s. Seth Rogen is up to his usual rambling and shouting, combined with plenty of action scenes, and it actually works reasonably well. If you don’t expect more.
The Green Hornet lacks subtlety and depth and there are plenty of holes in the story but for a simple action comedy that doesn’t try to be more than just that, the movie delivers. There’s some decent jokes, some good action and Christoph Waltz is pretty cool to watch as crime lord Chudnofsky.
In a time where comedies seem to want to bring over a deeper message of drama, the blandness of The Green Hornet is refreshing. If that’s all you’re looking for then The Green Hornet will definitely not disappoint.
