Hills have Eyes 2, The

After got lost and killed in Sector 16, the army decided to put a surveillance system in place to make sure the mutants wouldn’t be harming anyone again. However, the mutants won’t let this be done so simply. A bunch of National Guard trainees are sent into Sector 16 to deliver some supplies to the scientists that are there but when they arrive they find the camp completely empty. They start a search, but quickly the mutants start killing them one by one…

Sound and Vision:
There’s some minor grain present in certain scenes but for the rest the image is very good with nice levels of black, sharp images and good amount of detail.

The sound does its job nicely with good use of the surround speakers while dialogues nicely come out of the center speaker and the subwoofer supports the whole when necessary.

The remake of the original “The Hills have Eyes” was quite a good movie. Unfortunately, this one lacks the suspense and depth of the original remake. Yes, there’s plenty of blood, gore and guts, but the characters are cardboard and the actions very predictable. In short you could describe THHE2 as what follows: stupid soldier trainees vs. cannibalistic mutants. Perfect as a plot for a shallow videogame but hardly interesting and deep enough to keep the viewer on the edge of his seat.
