Inception 2-Disc SE

Dom Cobb is a master when it comes to extraction, the art of getting into a person’s mind while he’s dreaming and then stealing information from it. His ability has cost him everything and everyone he’s ever loved though, and made him a wanted man, not able to ever return to his home in the US and having to constantly live on the edge.

When his last job for Cobol Engineering fails, his target, Saito, is so impressed with Cobb’s skill that he gives him an opportunity to return back to his old life. However, this final chance for redemption doesn’t come easy. Cobb will have to do what many feel is impossible: plant an idea in the mind of someone. Inception.

Sound and Vision:
When it comes to demo material for showing off your TV screen, Inception is what you need to put in your blu-ray player. The amount of detail is amazing with every imperfection and pore of the cast’s faces plainly visible, perfect contrast, inky blacks and brilliant whites, great shadow detail and vibrant collors. Amazing stuff that’s absolutely jaw-dropping.

Where the image quality is perfect for showing off your TV screen, the sound quality of this Blu-ray does the same for your surround system. Reference material throughout, this DTS-HD master audio soundtrack will show off what your set is worth. Turn up the volume and you’ll have all channels pouring a glorious soundmix over you, supported greatly by the subwoofer that will make your floor tremble. Fantastic is the word!

Extras:
– Extraction Mode: Picture in Picture track with plenty of behind the scenes footage and interviews during the movie
– Dreams: Cinema of the Subconscious: documentary about dreams as a state of reality
– “Inception: The Cobol Job”: motion comic prologue to the movie
– 5.1 Inception Soundtrack: individual tracks of the music score from the movie
– Project Somnacin: Confidential Files: files regarding the technology for sharing dreams can be accessed through the BD-Live portal

– Digital Copy of “Inception”

Conclusion:
By now just about everyone will have heard that Christopher Nolan has again created a masterpiece with Inception. The movie has “fantastic” written all over it. The special effects, the storyline and plot twists, the acting, … the only minor downpoint we could find was that the trailers already had shown us just about all the cool special effects before we got to see the movie.

Similar to Inception being the best movie of 2010, we can easily say this Blu-ray is the best of 2010. The image and sound quality are absolute reference material, and also the extras are definitely worth checking out (which isn’t always the case). There really isn’t anything we could have wished for more. If there’s one Blu-ray from 2010 you need to have in your collection, it’s this one.
