Medal of Honor Vanguard

A new Medal of Honour means a new opportunity to shoot at angry Germans. All fun and games, but what do our German friends think of this sort of games? Time and time again, their fathers and grandfathers are suffering one sided missions. What are the consequences for the German way of life? Do these games create big scars on the soul? We asked Dieter Müller and Hans Lederhosen for more information. Afterall, who knows best about German lifestyle than these two hipsters?

Fragland: Herrn, what do you think about the Medal of Honour series?
Hans: Although the early adaptations of Medal of Honour only brought us a piece of shit it became a classic in his genre. That’s already remarkable but the customers are always right I guess. Gans krank doch?.

Fragland: Do you suffer from the anti-German undertone?
Dieter:Es ist wirklich nicht toll nein! But what to do about it? It’s a fact WO II was mostly fought against Germans, and we weren’t that nice to other people, I realise that. I think people have a WO II fixation and I hope we’ll soon see the end of this. Why not concentrate more on other wars? The Balkan war to name one. Apart from Ace Combat, there’s no game that takes place in this pittoresk environment. Or what about Medal of Honour: Israeli Takeover. Instead of throwing grenades, you throw oversized rocks and flee from the evil Jews. Watch out for those damn helicopters though. What great fun it would be. But that would be politically incorrect off course. Damn hypocrites!!

Fragland: Have you already played Medal of Honour: Vanguard?
Hans: Yes, but I stopped playing after 4 hours. Not that I didn’t want to play anymore, but I’d passed the ending credits. Yes indeed, after 4 hours it’s schluss. Arbeit macht frei they used to say in old Germany, but EA hat certainly nicht viel gearbeitet.

Dieter: We tried playing the multiplayer mode, but that was a disappointment to say the least. I was a German and Hans was a allied trooper. Nicht toll, It would be more interesting to shoot at dog shit with a slingshot. It certainly would be more fun.

Fragland: didn’t you think the landings from a plain were cool?
Dieter: Bist du gar krank? Those landings could have been prerendered movies and have nothing or very little to add to the gameplay.

Fragland: What about the graphics, soundtrack and gameplay?
Dieter: Mediocrity to say the least. Though it must be said, the soundtrack has a few sublime moments. As if you’re watching a big budget production. The graphics are not impressive and the gameplay offers the same things we already did five years ago.

To sum all things up: don’t buy, consider renting or loaning it once. 4 hours of fairly reasonable gameplay isn’t worth buying a game that isn’t even in stores at a lower price
