Sound and Vision:
Seeing all three Mission Impossible movies after each other makes it clear that as the number rises, the image quality does as well. The first is clearly the weakest with rather soft and dark images and lacking detail. Mission Impossible 2 improves quite a bit already with better detail, less oversaturated colors and only slight amounts of grain. M:I-III then has the best image quality and is clear demo-material with great detail and depth.
The same goes for the sound. MI is quite dull and only has sporadic use of the surrounds compared to modern releases. MI2 and 3 do exactly what they should and boast a very dynamic sound strage with plenty of surround use and good activity from the subwoofer for support.

Conclusion:
The Extreme Blu-Ray Collection of the Mission Impossible movies contains all three first movies (fourth one coming up) with varying image and sound quality depending on the age of the specific movie. This means the first is quite the disappointment, the second is decent and part 3 is just clear demo-material.
Also the extras are provided in huge amounts and at less than 10 euros a movie, this collection is a must have for anyone who likes action movies. A definite suggestion for Christmas!
