New Kids Nitro

Gerrie, Richard, Rikkert, Robbie and Barrie are Dutch hoodlums who – although stupid as fuck – rule and love their little village of Maaskantje. So much even that they get into a fight with the nearby village of Schijndel, a fight that will result is a very peculiar finale.

Meanwhile, in the North of Holland, cows have started giving extraordinary amounts of milk after a piece of rock fell out of the sky. However, after a while the people who actually drank this milk start transforming into deadly zombies…

Sound and Vision:
New Kids Nitro looks decent but lacks detail and the second part of the movie where the Kids invade Friesland switches to a darker color palette to make things look like a vampire hunter movie, but also that part could use some more work.

The sound does a bit better with good use of the subwoofer for the scenes where hard techno music gets used but unfortunately the sound level isn’t in line with the dialogues.

Extras:
– Audio commentary track
– Farttrack
– Making Of
– Comedy Central Clips
– Video Clip
– On the Radio
– Movie premieres
– Corry
– Bots!
– “Wa Zedde Gij?”
– Bam!

About an hour of extras that are as insane as the movie but provide equally little depth

Conclusion:
New Kids Nitro is in many ways similar to the original New Kids Turbo except that halfway through the movie, the focus changes and we suddenly find ourselves in a zombie slasher. With the usual New Kids comedy of course.

If you’re into totally insane slapstick comedy then New Kids will probably appeal to you thanks to the very familiar group of low-life kids and how they act. It’s that familiarity that makes things more funny than they actually are. For the wider world, however, that also means that outside Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, we doubt people will understand the jokes.

Our Score:
5.0
