1000 cars in Gran Turismo 5?

No! Somebody spread a rumour into the world stating that Sony's next racegame, Gran Turismo 5 would contain no less than 1000 cars.

Now Sony herself has the painful job to deny this and set the amount of cars on about 340. Still nog bad at all, and there will be more cars available for download. But a total of 1000? Seems pretty impossible to me!
