120Gig Xbox360 with HDMI official?

Posted on Friday, 9 February 2007 by Speed, source: Gamersreports
Gamersreports are claiming they've received confirmation that Microsoft will be releasing a 120GB Xbox360 with HDMi in Australia

Australia has told a store named Myer to prepare the store for a Black 360 with a 120GB hard drive in April. Well day 2 of product knowledge today (Brisbane, Australia) featured Microsoft themselves and it's now 100% official that the Black 360, (with black controller), 120gb hard drive and HDMI is due out in Australia for $749 AU in April.

I would still store this in the "rumour" department until we get some confirmation from Microsoft.

If this is true then it doesnt say alot for MicroSofts confidence in their product going toe to toe with Sony's PS3 which is a bit frustrating to say the least.

If they know they have a better machine which i think they do then why bring out an updated X360, also its out of order to all who allready own an X360.

The X360 should've had HDMI from day one anyway and a bigger hard drive since they knew full well that at some point they would want us to start downloading films and tv shows and for that you would need more than a 20GB HD.

Changing the colour to black though is pathetic, are they trying to disguise it as a PS3 in the hope that people might mistakenly buy the wrong console???????.

Whatever the reasons i seriously think this shows a complete lack of confidence in their own product and all it makes me think is that MS are seriously worried about the PS3 being available world wide very soon.

Then again it might all be bullshit :-/

It’s a case of shit on the early adopters and people that support your machine in favour of getting Jo public to buy one, oh and give the guy that waits the best version as well.

I see now why people say ill wait for the price to drop, well in this case the ones who waited will get the better machine, leaving the people that have supported the, machine from the beginning to swallow there pride and buy another machine.

Very unfair if you ask me and very detrimental to Microsoft in the long term especially when they release a new console people will remember this.

They need to at least acknowledge there user base and give reductions to existing 360 owners or take there old machines in as trade in…Very poor business and a complete u turn on what they said when Sony announced 1080p and HDMI support for PS3. Looks like even Microsoft believe Sonys hype or they have realised that there machine just can’t compete in the long term with it’s out of date HDD and lack of HDMI.

This to me is a blatant sign that they have admitted they got it wrong but that still leaves 10 million+ 360 owners pissed off. Like vexxed said loss of faith in there current 360 to compete in the long term.

You know it astounds me that people assume giant corporations have feelings. That they somehow "owe" us some debt of gratitude after we purchase their products. These are the same people who chew out waitresses for bad food, or try to reason with their pets I think. There must be an amazing population of multi-million dollar technology and manufacturing pioneers out there, since there seem to be so many conflicting opinions on how a successful corporation should operate. Microsoft has lost millions just to give us products we use everyday, and can't seem to live without, yet don't appreciate, can't operate properly, and feel compelled to degrade. Bad mouthing Microsoft and highlighting it's shortcomings has become like smoking cigarettes... foolish, pointless, and stupid but "all the cool people are doing it". Countless hours of effort have been invested just so we can loaf on the sofa eating cheese whiz and playing games, or using a computer that has tremendous capability to forward stupid jokes and religious propaganda to uninterested friends and co-workers. These same pet negotiators feel it is their duty to recklessly spew compu-jargon and techno-babble they remember hearing somewhere as if they knew what it meant. Usually they do this to impress the technologically uninitiated who haven't a clue which, as it happens, is usually the point of conception of yet another of these false techno-prophets of doom. A sort of retardosymbiosynthesis. A corporation "feels" with it's financial department. To expect anything less is foolish. To expect Harrison Ford to be kind to you on the street just because you have built a shrine to Han Solo in your basement over the last 30 years is naive and getting angry when he isn't is just insane. He has no idea that you've thrown your life away on action figures and lunch boxes, nor should he care. Hating him and badmouthing him because he didn't react the way you wanted him to once your life's ambition to meet him has finally been fulfilled isn't going to change the fact that you are a basement dwelling Star Wars geek who wasted his life worshiping a fictional character. I think we should look at it this way... "Yay the giant corporation, who could be doing numerous other more profitable things with their precious time and assets, has decided to grace us with newer, better product when the old product, which is outselling all of it's competitors, was selling just fine albeit at a loss." I mean... we act like spoiled children. We have been given ice cream but we still complain that it's the wrong flavor, or it's not enough, or it's too cold, or worst of all we act as if we know all the ins and outs of the dairy industry. JUST SAY THANK YOU, EAT THE FREAKIN' ICE CREAM AND SHUT UP!
