25% Ubisoft = 100% EA

Electronic Arts has invested its money in other companies. At first, this seems quite normal, but when we take a closer look they appear to be pumping the cash into the competition. The company has now bought about 25% of Ubisoft, which makes EA responisble for a quarter of its decisions. It also becomes the owner of about 15% of the Ubi-capital.

EA acquired 20 per cent of Ubisoft in 2005, a move that the French publisher described as "hostile".

Speculation of an acquisition by Electronic Arts has refused to go away, with senior Ubisoft executives vocal in their opposition of such a move.

Although EA states to have no plans of joining Ubisofts board, it does seem quite "handy" to own the competition doesn't it?
