250 000 Jumpgate Evolution beta sign-ups

Codemasters has announced that their upcoming MMO Jumpgate Evolution has reached 250 000 beta sign-ups in Europe and North America.

This number makes Jumpgate Evolution the most popular MMO by Codemasters. Previously the game was set for a release in June, but the game needed further polishing and has thus been delayed.

"This is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved with Jumpgate Evolution," said David Solari, Vice President, Codemasters Online. "We have received overwhelming support for the game since the commencement of its Beta sign-up last year and our fans have been clamoring for the Beta. We expect our fans to agree that it was well worth the wait."

For now the beta is still in the 'Friends & Family' phase, but later this year the 250 000 signed up people will also be able to test the spaceships in the game.

It just means people are hungry for sci-fi as most mmos are fantasy and EVE does not suit everyone. I hope JGE picks up where freelancer stopped.

Archlord wasn't unfinished, it was just aimed at the Asian market, where they don't care about grinding. There they want to pvp :)
