Developer Free Radical, known from the Timesplitter series, is now developing Haze. This new FPS will take place in the South-American jungle.

In this game you take on the role of Jake Carpenter, member of the so-called Mantel Army. This is some kind of army of mercenaries who can be hired by governments to do their dirty work.

For publisher Ubisoft this is an important title because this game is their answer to EA's Crysis. Both games will be released Q1 2007. The new screens of Haze are seen in this post.

It looks promising, but I bet it's no match for Crysis.

Well it's by Free Radical so even so it will be an excellent game. Remember graphics are great and all, but they alone don't make a good game.

Yeah I'm sure you would love to play games with 5 year old graphics :P

but truth is... if you have shitty graphics the gameplay is gonna feel shitty too.

Well I gotta somewhat agree.. FarCry wasn't that great after all as far as gameplay is considered. Hopefully Crytech doesn't make the same mistake twice.

By the way, last time I checked Crysis was slated for Q4/2006 release.. :)

I've re-played good ol' "Duke Nukem 3D" just recently and what bugged me wasn't the graphics but the poor AI so 5 year old graphics doesn't bother me - but based on your demands I can really recommend Unreal 2 :)
