360 and PS3 equal in power according to devs

Over at Mercury News is an interview with Denis Dyack, the president of Silicon Knights, who states that for developers, there's no difference in "power" between Microsoft's Xbox360 and Sony's PS3

Asked about our favorite topic on the graphics power of the new consoles, Dyack said, "The 360 and the PS 3 are equal in power in my eyes. Maybe the PS 3 has more processing power. The 360 has more available memory. It's pretty much a net, net. The public perception of the PS 3 was that it was much more powerful. To developers, they look even."

You have never had a good word to say about X360,quite the opposite and you have never had anything but praise for the PS3 which is a joke considering the damn thing aint even out.

And just fyi, I never said the Xbox360 blatantly sucked, I only gave reasons why I personally would chose the PS3 over it.

To start: Peace, love, unity.
Most of the cats on these boards, anonymous or not, are on point. A lot of intelligent, factual-based, opinionated, but respectful, points of view (360, ps3, or other).
I do notice the children who post the ignorant shit, using rhetoric that would put truck stop bathroom stall walls to shame. Not much to say to them as that would just egg them on.
Fact is, we (most) would love to own a 360, a ps3, a wii...shit, I'd love to get my NES, sega and 32x back. Cost of living (for those that earn their own) kind of pisses in the proverbial 3 system-owning cheerio bowl though. So as ignorant dudes, we pick a side and fight like its some next-gen braveheart shit. Ive seen it go on from SNES v. Genesis to Voodoo Graphics to whatever was next. Easiest way to communicate my P.o.V. is with a quote (don't go crying on me and shit)

Use some god damned sense people, PS3 drops in the U.S. tonight @ midnight. Let the consoles speak for themselves.
The facts: Hands down Microsoft demolished Sony from a PR, Marketing, Production, and general business stand-point. Delivering a power-house gaming rig (excuse me, console) with excellent support, software, and general stigma. They are balls deep in the next generation one year later with lots of titles, chilling til sony gets its shit straight.
Sony has slacked, they had vaporware (non-existant version of vaporware) at E3 '05, they barely have shit set for launch in Nov. '06, and their software at launch is not horrible, but is far from great. Sony possesses the ability to comeback by name alone (I.E. Ignorant mother *'s), as well as future software/support.
Lets sit back, game on, and see what happens. Either way, do any of you people have the success of your future invested in Sony and/or Microsoft? If not chill out homies, crack one open (green tea for me), blaze on down (if thats your shit ; ) and enjoy the show.
