3DS playable at E3, first info inside
Nintendo spokesperson, Ken Toyoda, has stated why Nintendo suddenly made a surprise announcement for the 3DS. He also said that the handheld will be playable at E3 in June.
The first details have already been coming in: the Nikkei (Japanese paper) is reporting that the screen is smaller of that of the DSi XL, but not too much smaller. The difference is 0.2 inches diagonally. Playing is done through 3D analog sticks.
Colleague newspaper Asahi talks about the screens which according to them is a parallax barrier LCD from Sharp which are already built-in in a limited series of Japanese smartphones, but aren't usable for TV.
Those that wonder what the software will be like can check out the trailer below. Beware: this isn't a 3DS but a DsiWare title that tries to create a 3D effect depending on how you hold your DSi.
