ATI payed big bucks for HL2 bundle
The Inquirer is reporting that ATI and nVidia had been bidding very high amounts for being able to bundle their graphics cards with Half-Life 2 (which ATI won)
Our little fiends claim that the bidding reached several millions between ATI and NVDA before the latter pulled out – a large sum, we'd say for a version of HL which has a so-called "prequel".
Apparently, it's sort of the full version but not the full version which, of course, will also be sold unbundled with any kind of graphics card at all, sooner or later.
Not really surprising news, but it's really funny to hear a developer doesn't earn money only by having his product sold in shops but even cashing in big time for having it bundled with hardware. And the fact that hardware companies are fighting for certain products...
