ATI techdemo shows Far Cry 2 engine

ATI has released a techdemo (four and a half minutes long) to show off the possibilities of the Radeon X800. This rolling techdemo utilises an advanced version of the CryENGINE which will also be used in Far Cry 2.

You can download a low-res version of the movie but the streamed version on the ATI-site is of better quality. If you want to see how your PC handles all this eyecandy then there is the 162 MB large techdemo itself.

The ATI-Crytek demo uses same next-generation CryENGINE that will be used to create the successor to Far Cry. Since the CryENGINE enables immediate playability of a created game without the lengthy wait for compiling, enthusiasts into creating “mods” will have an easy way to make new gaming content for themselves. The ATI/Crytek demo shows just how easy it can be, especially since it is optimized to run on ATI’s RADEON® X800 XT series and the new RADEON® PCI Express graphics boards. Download the demo and see for yourself how photo-realistic “machinima” cinematic computing will change your future gaming experience!

Hey there, just responding to tell ya ive got the Tech Demo, looks good, runs awsome on hi res on me Radeon X850XT 256MB video card.
But as for Far Cry 2 on PC. I dont know, i think we need to wait for the arrival of the PS3 & Xbox 360 GPU's then finally wait until the next gen PC video cards (512MB) to run Far Cry 2 on PC.

i agree with Anonymous i ran Far Cry, Half Life 2, & Doom 3 on my Radeon
9800XT video card and then up graded to the new Nvidia Ge Force 7800 GT which is dam fast, but far cry chews it up pushing it to the limit. these latsest FPS PC games are designed to run on the nex gen video cards like ATI's radeon X900XT pro which is 512MB which i cant wait to get me hands on hopully by the end of this year.

Far Cry is difinetly a Monster FPS game. I have the X800Xl radeon card which is 512mb & it runs Far Cry awsome. cant wait for Far Cry 2.

hey there guys i got far cry at home & love it, fun playing online.
seen the HD demo its great. as for the video card comparison between next Gen game consoles & latest pc video cards, thats a no brainer. after reading in depth the the specs of the PS3 & Xbox 360, PC's are out the window.
