Activision and Harmonix keep fighting

Activision, the owner of Guitar Hero and Harmonix the developer of the new Rock Band keep fighting over the compatibility issues of the GH3 guitars of the Playstation 3. After a promised patch by Harmonix was stopped by Sony, they immediately pointed their finger to their previous employer. For them it seemed Activision had put some pressure on the developer of the Playstation 3 to keep them from releasing the update.

Now it's Activision their turn to accuse Harmonix. Through a press announcement they had the following to say.

In fact, Harmonix and its parent company MTV Games/Viacom recently declined Activision's offer to reach an agreement that would allow the use of Guitar Hero guitar controllers with Rock Band. We have been and remain open to discussions with Harmonix and MTV Games/Viacom about the use of our technology in Rock Band. Unfortunately for Rock Band users, in this case Harmonix and MTV Games/Viacom are unwilling to discuss an agreement with Activision.

Let us hope that future Rock Band players won't have these problems since it will otherwise become an expensive joke.
