Activision and Vivendi ditch ESA membership

After the surprise announcement yesterday that Activision will not be present at E3, the company has also announced its departure (along with Vivendi) from the ESA who organise the yearly event.
"While the Entertainment Software Association remains the preeminent voice for US computer and videogame publishers, we can confirm that Activision and Vivendi Games opted to discontinue their membership," said Rich Taylor, the ESA's senior VP of communications and research, in a statement.
I guess this is quite a blow for the organisation. Once the Activision/Vivendi/Blizzard merger is complete Activision-Blizzard will be just about the biggest company in the industry and without them the power of ESA will be quite a lot smaller.In other news:
