Activision number one!
According to a press release from the company today, a look at the NPD figures so far for 2007 shows the company was the #1 publisher for both consoles and handheld systems. This success bolstered the company to a record market share of 16.8%, up 7.9% from the same time last year
So what made sales boom so much? Well, the Guitar Hero for one as that was sold along with a guitar peripheral which increased the price so in order to generate more money, they didn't really have to sell that much more. Second up was Call of Duty 4 which also did very well on various platforms and although there were several more games that easily managed to grab a Top5 place in sales figures, COD4 and GH clearly made the difference.
