Activision to ditch Sierra games/studio?
Posted on Tuesday, 29 July 2008 by Speed, source: Videogamer.com
Activision has stated that several Vivendi Games titles will be put out to tender while analysts believe Sierra studios may be sold off.
Speaking with Videogamer.com, Activision's Mike Griffith said that they've reviewed Vivendi Games' portfolio of upcoming games and will be releasing Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant, The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and an Ice Age sequel. Also references to Prototype and an unannounced title were given.
Absent of the list were Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Brutal Legend, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, World in Conflict and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. A solution for these games is being looked at and they might be sold to other publishers.
Meanwhile, analyst Signal Hill is suggesting that several Sierra studios may be sold off or completely shut down.

"We believe Activision has been busy over the past several weeks contemplating which pieces of Vivendi Games to keep, and which to shut down or sell off," said analyst Todd Greenwald.
"While Activision will likely keep the most valuable properties, there will probably be several studios that are no longer needed and can be shut down to improve margins."
