Aion launches without GameGuard
Posted on Monday, 21 September 2009 by L0k1-, source: aiononline.com
Great news for all Aion players. The anti-cheat software GameGuard is nowhere to be seen at the launch of Aion. After several complaints during open beta the developers decided to remove the software.
GameGuard is a heavily criticized software, which installs itself without permission on your PC and closes down the game for the most idiotic reasons.
Still it seems that it might only be temporary. In the same newspost, they mentioned that in the future they would like to introduce the software again. Let us hope that it is going to be a very far future.

After analyzing our open beta test results Aion will not feature GameGuard at launch. We will however continue to pursue ways to effectively utilize GameGuard within Aion in the future. Right now we're focused on providing players with the best possible Aion experience.
