Every MMORPG has to face it sooner or later, the dreaded "server merge". Many think this is the end of their favorite MMO, while potential newcomers see it as a sign of a failing game.

Still it doesn't have to be all that negative. It could also mean that the developers want to give their stable playerbase the best environment to play in. Let us hope it is the latter for Aion: The Tower of Eternity and not the first.

Because the servers will be merged on the 7th July, all players will be able to transfer their characters for free to a new home (server). This offer will last till 18th August after which transferring characters will become payable again.
