Bigkid spoke with Alex Garden, CEO of Relic Entertainment about his company[BLOCK]Well when I started Relic, I started working in the industry when I was 15, so I’d already had about 6 years of experience at that point so I wasn’t going in totally cold. But I’ve also said the success that we’ve had with Relic was due to how naïve we all were when we started the company because we didn’t realise how hard it was going to be, it just really never occurred to us and we just decided that we wanted to make a great game for us, and we were convinced that if we made a great game, that everyone would buy it. It was so unbelievably primitive and simplistic going into it, honestly, our business plan was “Make great game, sell lots of units of great game, make a lot of money, repeat”, that was all we were going to do. That has certainly matured a thousand fold since then and now Relic is really a business, and it’s a very sophisticated business, and over the last 3 ½, 4 years, we’ve all grown an unbelievable amount.[/BLOCK]
