Aliens: Colonial Marines gets its fate linked to AVP's success

Sega told G4TV that the delayed shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines by Gearbox Software may see it's release date changed again depending on the sales of the new Alien vs Predator game. So, whether the game gets kicked back or moved up totally depends on what Rebellion whips up for the AVP reboot.

Here's a quote from SEGA big shot Mike Hayes:

"What I would say is it's unlikely that we'd launch anything within six months [after Aliens vs. Predator], but probably nine months, eight to 12 months possibly. Though we literally are looking at that at the moment and a lot of is going to depend, as well, on how successful AvP is at the box [retail]."

So, no matter how bad you want to play this game, the AVP reboot comes first and if it completely tanks, they might let the series cool down for a while and let the stench wear off. If AVP blows the box-office away, then this one might get bumped up to ride the cash wave.
