All Points Bulletin: online anarchy
And I'm not writing about Anarchy Online but about All Point Bulletin, a new MMOG with some familiar Grand Theft Auto features. Not strange because David Jones' new company Real Time Worlds is developing this project. Jones is the founder of DMA Designs and the father of GTA itself. The publisher will be Webzen, a company specialized in online gaming.
APB will copy, just like its offline brother, some known cities, but now in a larger scale. It all revolves around the Gangs taking it up against the Squads. The Gangs are "street gangstas" with graffiti, respect, custom cars and money. The Squads prefer honour, teamwork and firepower. Everything about your digital alter ego will be editable. The MMOG should be done in 2007, but it'll be shown this E3. Let's wait and see.
"As an avid gamer and creator of many single player games, it has been my dream to create an online game experience that provides the player with the ultimate freedom to do whatever he wants, in a thriving, living environment," said David Jones, founder and creative director of Real Time Worlds. "When looking for a publishing partner for APB, it was imperative to find a company that was a worldwide leader in online games and we found that in Webzen, Inc."
