Anachronox First Look

Spank! Daily Games Magazine which for unknown reasons has the url of gameplay.com has posted their first looks at Ion Storm's upcoming title Anachronox on which there hasn't been much attention lately.
Knowing that Daikatana sucked and Deus Ex isn't selling more than a 3 year old Big Mac and the fact the the game is using the Quake 2 engine, I doubt it will be worth its money[BLOCK]The whole presentation lasted less than an hour and consisted of Tommo demoing half a dozen sequences and talking about the game. There wasn't the chance to actually have a play and since the design is heavily story driven it wasn't possible to get a real sense of how the game will feel. It looks okay but the limitations of the engine are apparent compared to the likes of Quake III. However given the development time we can at least hope the story, design and characters, not to mention a whole bunch of mini-games from puzzles to shoot-'em-up sequences, will make up for any graphical shortcomings[/BLOCK]
