Analyst: PS3 as popular as Wii by 2011

Piers Harding-Rolls, an analyst from Screen Digest, said in an interview with The Economist that by 2011 the PS3 won't only be more popular than Microsoft's Xbox360, but will manage to even take on Nintendo's Wii.

As more games become available for the PS3 next year, sales are expected to rise even further, so that by 2011 the PS3 will have caught up with the Wii. In short, each of the consoles will be in front at various points in the “console cycle”.

I guess Sony's latest one has some decent catching up to do, but with 3 years to go it doesn't sound impossible. However, Sony will definitely have to release some major selling games to achieve that.
