Analyst: motion controller and price cut upcoming for Xbox360

Signal Hill analyst Todd Greenwald is the latest to support the rumours that Microsoft will be dropping the price of its Xbox360 and he expects it to be announced even this weekend.

"The Xbox 360 price cut has essentially been confirmed by leaks from retailers at this point. We expect a USD 50 price cut on the Xbox 360 this weekend (from USD 349 to USD 299), prior to Microsoft's keynote on Monday morning," said the Signal Hill expert.

He believes Microsoft's console is losing momentum against the Wii and PS3 and hopes the company has something else "up its sleeve" to compete more against Nintendo's Wii like a motion-enabled controller

"Hopefully, Microsoft will have something else up its sleeve, such as a new motion-enabled controller (to better compete with the Wii)"

We'll now soon enough with E3 just around the corner but instead of motion control Microsoft may very well focus on that rumoured 60GB Xbox360
