Anonymous: we've got nothing to do with PSN being down!
Hacktivist group Anonymous has released a video claiming that they have nothing to do with the PSN services in both US and Europe being down since last Wednesday.
Sony Entertainment has issued a statement yesterday stating that they've had to take down the service after an external intrusion that apparently was so severe that the company saw no other choice than to bring everything down completely. Since then Sony is working on "rebuilding" the "system".

Meanwhile, for those who don't know the entire story, there's quite a good editorial over at VG247 that gives an overview of what's been going on lately and clearly identifies exactly why this is such an issue for Sony and the entire Playstation brand. Definitely worth reading.
Sony must demonstrate it is capable of dealing with this situation right now. If these episodes become regular in any way, PSN’s users, core or not, will lose faith in its brand and gravitate elsewhere. PSN must be robust enough to withstand external influences, whatever they are.
