Definitely not "Arc"

Still wondering whether Sony Entertainment will be calling their upcoming motion controller Arc? Well, wonder no more as Microsoft have patented the name for a new PC mouse:

The revolutionary design of the Arc™ Mouse combines the comfort of a desktop mouse and the portability of a notebook mouse. Arc Mouse folds to 60% of its fully expanded size when you’re on the go. Two color options to match your personal style.

Although Sony has always stated that "Arc" was only a codename, plenty of industry people had started using it already, including THQ president Brian Farrell.

Whether or not it was Sony's plan to name it Arc seems irrelevant now as Microsoft has scooped the name anyway. Guess Sony will have to come up with something else.
