Archlord becomes completely free

Archlord has had a rough history. After been published by Codemasters in the Western countries, the game didn't do so well as expected. Codemasters then decided to drop the monthly fee and instead make use of micro payments. With these micro payments, players could get better armor and weapons in exchange for a couple of dollars or euro's.

Now Codemasters announced that they would make the game completely free by making it available as a download. You will no longer need to buy a copy in your local gamestorm to play it. You can find the free download here.

I bet this will royally piss off anyone that payed for that POS.

I played it in open beta, and from what I hear there weren't any serious improvements.

Yea I think I summed up my feelings on the game pretty well after playing the beta. I remember saying I wouldn't play this game for free, and I don't think this changes anything. I'm just glad to see their more recent games have not followed in the foot steps of this failure.

I know thats pretty harsh but what did they expect when they released a game like that in an already saturated market. They might have been able to get away with it 5 years ago, but definetly not today.
