Assassin's Creed selling extremely well

Despite the many reviews declaring it as the disappointment of the year, Assassin's Creed is selling like crazy for Xbox360 and PlayStation 3.

Ubisofts newcomer is the second best selling video game based on new IP in the UK, after The Getaway in 2002. Both platforms are selling well, with the Xbox360 holding first place in the rankings, and the PS3 following with half as much sales.

Because of this, last week's topgame Call of Duty 4 already looses his first position, and the Simpsons family is placed third. Super Mario Galaxy is also selling very well and might even become the fastest selling Wii game in the history of the Wii. I can imagine that's not so hard. ;)

This is why I have always hated consoles... Games like The Witcher slip under the rug while this trash gets purchased -- and yes, my roommate has it and I've watched him play through a good deal of it. Makes for a good tech demo I guess.

sadly this happens with a lot of good games, i would say blame Atari. They could promote NWN2 as hell even when that game was quite buggy, but they can't promote the Witcher that seems to be so much better? =/
