Atari and Cryptic working on Neverwinter Nights MMO?

Posted on Tuesday, 9 June 2009 by Speed, source: Variety
Atari last year bought development house Cryptic Studios and little later the publisher announced they would fall back completely to the US and concentrate on online content.

Today, Variety's The Cut Scene is reporting that the company is working on an unannounced MMO based on the popular Neverwinter Nights franchise with development being in the hands of Cryptic Studios.
Sources tell us that the developer is working on a massively multiplayer online (MMO) version of “Neverwinter Nights” with an eyed 2011 release.

Details about the project are unavailable, naturally, as it is an unannounced title. But this reportedly was the primary reason Atari was interested in acquiring Cryptic late last year.
To be honest, an MMO based on Neverwinter Nights doesn't seem so far-fetched to me. It's got a good history and eventhough neither Bioware nor Obsidian Entertainment are involved (they created the first and second game), Cryptic has quite some experience in MMOs. Maybe Atari made the right bet?

MMO(G) = Massive Multiplay Online (Game)
So yes, it would be a Neverwinter Nights game with subscription fee
