Atari founder slaps Sony/PS3
Posted on Wednesday, 8 November 2006 by Speed, source: Red Herring
In an interview with Red Herring, Chuck E. Cheese and Atari founder Nolan Bushnell expresses his love for the Xbox360 while bashing Sony's PS3
He finished the interview by saying that the PSOne and PS2 were "accidental" winners of previous generation console wars due to the fact that they had a good price and perfect timing (something they don't have now)
Q: What about Sony’s PlayStation 3 Strategy?
A: I think Sony shot themselves in the foot… there is a high probability [they] will fail. The price point is probably unsustainable. For years and years Sony has been a very difficult company to deal with from a developer standpoint. They could get away with their arrogance and capriciousness because they had an installed base. They have also historically had horrible software tools. You compare that to the Xbox 360 with really great authoring tools [and] additional revenue streams from Xbox live… a first party developer would be an idiot to develop for Sony first and not the 360. People don’t buy hardware, they buy software.

im going over old ground but it seems more developers are saying what a few of us have posted on here before ,
the saturn and the ps3 have many similarities , both have a rep for being hard to programme for the saturn was far to expensive when it came out £400 if i remeber and it came out after the psone wich was £300
im not saying the ps3 is shit but i think the top console of this gen is not going to be a sony console
history seems to be repeating its self
