Atari gets a new CEO

Posted on Tuesday, 5 September 2006 by Roman, source: IGN
Atari has appointed David Pierce as President and Chief Executive Officer. He will be replacing former CEO Bruno Bonnell, who will continue to act as Chairman and Chief Creative Officer for Atari.

Pierce joins Atari with 20 years of executive experience at companies such as Universal Pictures, MGM, Sony Pictures, and Sony Music Entertainment. At Sony Wonder, a division of Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Pierce led a restructuring and turnaround of the division -- a success Atari likely hopes Pierce can repeat in his new role.

But it's not all good news from the front:

News of Pierce's appointment comes just days after Atari announced it faces delisting from Nasdaq due to the company's stock not maintaining $1.00 minimum bid price. Atari is appealing the decision.
