Athlon64: the bundle ?
Digitimes is reporting that motherboard manufacturers are interested in selling their boards in a package together with an Athlon64 to surcompass low availability of the new CPU's.

The entry-level Athlon 64 3200+ processor will be quoted by AMD at US$416 per unit, while a high-end version will carry a price tag of over US$600. It would cost individual buyers another US$160 for motherboards using a K8T800 chipset from VIA Technologies, while the FOB (freight-on-board) wholesale prices are estimated at around US$130, local motherboard makers said.
I would certainly hope AMD will lower its pricing to be very competitive with Intel as it has always been the company's key to success that they could deliver a cpu that's faster (or almost as fast) as an Intel one but at a much cheaper price.In other news:
