Battlefield 2142 gets 1.4 beta patch

To show us that Electronic Arts and DICE are still supporting their games, they have released a new patch for Battlefield 2142. This patch will add the map Highway Tampa, which has also been released for Battlefield 2. You can play 2 different game types on this map, Titan Mode and Dual assault lines. The following bug fixes are also included.

- Fixed an exploit that would allow commanders to call Orbital and EMP strikes before it had fully recharged.
- The Clark RDX Shotgun can now detonate other nearby explosives.
- EU Assault Rifle recoil and deviation have been slightly reduced.
- Bianchi and Shuko LMGs recoil reduced.
- Clark Shotgun rate of fire increased.
- Added an autosave to kit customisations. After you customise a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customisation will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved.

Let's hope the patch doesn't cause too many problems because of the word beta in it's name :).

wow patch 1.4 is just as bad as all the others.
Now 4-6 hours of messing followed probably by 2-3 weeks of boycotting game then trying all over again. I hate either ea or microsoft, whoever is to blame for the worst game updates in the world. If i can get 1.4 working please EA no more patches leave us all alone

I have the new 1.4 full patch (non beta) and I can't load my levels past 50%.

The game crashes causing me to reboot sometimes, occasionally being able to terminate via task manager.

Not happy with patch 1.4...

1.4 full patch out!! HURRAY!! wait... what am I saying.. EA YOUR TRYING TO SAY THIS IS YOUR FINAL PATCH??? MY GAME WONT EVEN WORK ANYMORE!!!
