Behind the fags - part 2
Okay, here I am again. We returned from the Nintendo press conference a few hours ago, but after a long and winding busdrive from the Kodak Theatre (Oscars!) back to the LA Convention Centre (E3), we felt the need to EAT. Everybody decided that rabbit food was a good option, except for me ofcourse, I went for the classic burger and fries.
But we're back and as I'm thinking this up Speed and Lord Ciar are busy writing the report of the Nintendo conference.
Let me already give you the short scoop. The Nintendo presentation was quite alright, fairly non-boring in my opinion. Some game trailers that were pretty 'bla' again, but this year everybody was looking out for the information about the new hand-held Nintendo DS console.

Since DS stands for Dual Screen, this little handheld has... two screens. Apart from that it also has touchscreen support and two types of wireless connections, one of them fully Wifi compatible.
To tip it all off and to keep the advantage, the DS is completely backward compatible with the Gameboy Advance (this means you can play the GBA games in it, next to the brand new DS games).
When the crowds got to hear there's a new Metroid Prime game for the DS in the making, they went pretty wild. Being a Nintendo-noob I have no clue why, but I guess this must be a popular game.
Just like Zelda ofcourse, because when we got to see the trailer of the new 3D Zelda game for Gamecube, I'm sure some people fainted.

All in all a well coordinated show by Nintendo. A few silly people read a few boring things from an all-too-obvious autocue.

But in the end most of us got to leave the Kodak Theatre with a pleasant mood (the opposite mood from the 'OMFG THIS WAS BORING' one), especially since we got a fairly decent bathing suit shot on the way out.

And even I must admit that the Nintendo PDA/Gameconsole DS looks promising, I sure like the design more than that of the Sony PSP.
So we're currently located in the E3 Media center in the LACC, where there's way too many people trying to get a spot on the network. Bastards as we Fragland crew are, we take up many spots and stay here just surfing boring websites as to annoy the competition.

I've also just been informed that DoubleD has been struck by the Sasser virus, so he's very busy right now trying to upload the pictures in between the reboot sessions. Lucky both Fragland system admins are along on this trip, to point a finger and laugh at him, but we're definitely not gonna help.
Hey, we're entitled to a little revenge. Yesterday we moved to our second hotel, a bit closer to the LACC. Now, when we had just arrived, the hallway was looking pretty nice, so dear old DD decided to say to the woman behind the counter that 'this was the nicest hotel we'd stayed in so far'.
I thought she was laughing a bit mysteriously after he said that (a bit like 'where the hell have you guys been staying then'). So it turned out this is our worst LA hotel so far (and its our fourth fyi). It's not exactly hell, but let's just say the bathroom has less room than the clothes closet.
And if you'd think we could go the bar and drink all misery away, you're dead wrong there, we tried that yesterday. When you notice there's not even a bartender, it gets a bit difficult to order a drink.
But theoretically this bar would at least be better than the previous one, now it closes at 02 am, the one before closed at 22h... jeez.... strange people these Americans.
