Behind the fags
It doesn't happen much that I lower myself to the lesser regions of mankind and go through the trouble of posting a news message, but as to give the interested reader some things to be jealous about, I decided to come up with this bit of information on how we sods are doing in the City of Angels. No game news for a change, cuz I know that doesn't interest you guys, but here are some of the exploits we've done so far.
Four of us left Brussels airport saturday, to land in NY JFK (ugly airport btw) a good 8 hours later. Now that flight was boring, two movies were presented: Big Fish and Love Actually. Two good movies, that we all had seen, but even if we wanted to watch, we wouldnt have been able to since our screen was kinda... not good.
However, we managed to see some of Love Actually, the film that had been edited for 'all ages'. This means you have to get rid of ALL the swear words, all the remotely sex-like scenes, and end up with about half of te movie remaining. It was in fact, quite pathetic.
Anyway, after lots of very boring hours, we walked around in JFK and decided to eat - in good American tradition - Burger King. After that we were cordially invited to board our next plane for now another 6 BOORING hours from NY to LA, accompanied by no food whatsoever, and the movie 'Along came Polly'.
Arriving in LA we discovered our good buddy Slyoldfox was already waiting there for about 6 hours since his flight from Australia had arrived. In desperate need of sleep or coffee, we grabbed our suitcases and headed for a Cab.

First hotel, Holiday Inn on Hollywood Boulevard. Nice hotel, right in the heart of Hollywood. This might sound like much, but everyone who has ever been there knows it means Jack Sh*t, so for those of us that were there for the second time, it was more of a 'bla' feeling. Anyway, that same night we headed for one of the more shabbier pizzeria's to over-order quite heavily on the pepperoni pizza.

After a job well done, it was time to do go sleepie.
Two rooms with two double beds, however, five people. So some guys had to make the sacrifice of sleeping together. Luckily this was not really an issue since DoubleD and Lord Ciar gladly volunteered for this endeavour... for some mysterious reason. But hey, I had to sleep in the room with them so you don't hear me complain about the fact I had a bed to myself, either way, off to sleep.
*night with lots of suspicious from the bed on the left passes*
Sunday morning has arrived! Time for a big american breakfast. Lots of sausages, lots of pancakes and syrop, lots of lots. After the brunch we went for another visit to Universal Studios park. Both DoubleD and me had done it already last year, but our three children really wanted to go, so good adult guardians as we are, we gave in to their pleas and promises of ... compensation.
The visit to the park was fun enough, and we were astonished yet again about the incredible amount of meat the average American citizen possesses beneath his or her clothes. Half way through Universal Studios park we decide to do like any good gamer would (or just the really bad nerds perhaps) and went to an arcade hall. Basically just have a look at all the pictures to find out what we were up to over there.

At the end of day 1, we - quite unexpectedly - went for BURGER KING ... again. I felt weight coming on already, good thing, otherwise I'd feel left out in the big US.
Day 2: shopping day.
Visit to Santa Monica beach.

And lots of shops and several malls. We had some real trouble on our hands keeping DoubleD out of the clothing shops, and restraining Lord Ciar from spending money he doesn't have. Visa is a BAD thing.

By the way, we encountered Belgian's game development pride in the US, in the bottom shelf of one of the game stores we found Beyond Divinity !! Well... at least it's there :)

I'd love to bore you some more with this background info of the 5 Fragland Fags, but it will have to wait. Right now the - most likely very uninteresting - Nintendo press conference is calling. And we have to take pictures of the Nintendo DS or something ofcourse... waw.
You'll read from me later, but you probably won't wanna. F(r)agland out !
