Being Bryan Hook

Posted on Tuesday, 28 November 2000 by CoBraLorD, source: Fragland
As reported earlier, Brian Hook is leaving Verant, and The Extreme Voodoo Boys caught up with him and threatened to put a spell on him if he didn't speak :[BLOCK]My plan is to develop some core technology, contract some freelance artists for demo content, and hopefully sell a game concept to an interested publisher. A game with a very high hit potential but a fairly low monetary risk because it isn’t being insanely aggressive on technology and content simultaneously. I really think that the Nihilistic guys are on the right track. They made V:TM very quickly and with a modest budget, and it did pretty well. In the current market I think publishers are looking to amortize their risk by spreading their development dollars across more developers with proven track records, as opposed to dumping all their cash into one overhyped development house and getting taken to the cleaners.
