Bethesda and Zombie present latest UE3 fps, Rogue Warrior
A new day, a new Unreal Engine 3 first-person shooter! The only developers who prolly didn't license this next-gen engine must be Zombie Studios and Bethesda, so now they make up for it by announcing Rogue Warrior in some kind of official Xbox360 magazine.
From the info that is out one could say it's a multiplayer centered counter-terrorist shooter on the Xbox360, most definitely the thing everyone was waiting for.
No, seriously, this might be good after all since co-op for up to four players is in, just as 24 players support in regular online matches (Xbox Live). The real treat might even come from some kind of custom randomization of the levels you're playing online:
We'll have to wait till 2007 to find out if this special trick might blow the "traditional" fps-levels out of the water.

Bethesda and Zombie are touting a multiplayer tiling system, which allows players to build multiplayer maps from sections of other maps. According to the magazine, each level is made up from three sections - you choose one, the other team picks another, the then centre section is plucked out of the list at random by the Xbox 360 (from over 200 combinations).
Opposing teams won't know what the other team has picked until they're in the game. The main aim of this feature is to stop players getting bored of playing on the same maps, according to the makers.
The last time a mainstream FPS experimented with this kind of stuff, was Soldier of Fortune II and those maps were awkward to say the least. Opposing teams won't know what the other team has picked until they're in the game. The main aim of this feature is to stop players getting bored of playing on the same maps, according to the makers.
