Bethesda steals Rage from EA

ZeniMax Media has just announced that it has taken id Software's upcoming FPS/Racer out of the hans of rival publisher EA.

Nothing further was specified on the deal aside from the (obvious) fact that Bethesda, ZeniMax' publishing label, will do the publishing and marketing of the highly anticipated id game.

RAGE will be published by Bethesda Softworks, another ZeniMax subsidiary. As a result, Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) will not be involved in the sales and marketing of RAGE. The ongoing development of RAGE is unaffected by this development.

Seeing that id Software was recently bought by ZeniMax Media, this shouldn't come as a too big surprise. Other than EA letting it happen just like that.
