Big MS HD-DVD promo in UK
Microsoft has brought the HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray war to an all new level by coming out with a HUGE promo in the United Kingdom to speed up the sales of their X360 HD-DVD player.
Brits who buy the add-on between now and the 31st of January will get no less than 5 HD-DVD movies along with it. They'll get to choose from Serenity, The Chronicles of Riddick, Hulk, Children of Men, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Troy, Full Metal Jacket, Corpse Bride, The Prestige, Swordfish, Black Rain, Dreamgirls and Word Trade Centre.
The offer only applies to people living in the UK who'll have to send a form, with the HD-DVD barcode on it, to MS in order to receive the movies. The Bill Gates company guarantees buyers they'll have their movies within 28 days. The price of the HD-DVD player in the UK is set to around £115. Not the smallest price to pay, but hey, you do get 5 movies (and some of them are real classics)!

This is probably a marketing experiment running in the UK. Microsoft wil lcollect data to see if this deal is actually profitable in increasing sales. If so, they'll likely duplicate it elsewhere, if not...
