Big lawsuit against MS, Sony and Nintendo
Posted on Thursday, 11 January 2007 by Devilke, source: Gamesindustry
Game fans all over, gather and fight against the patent system in the United States.
Yesterday, the three biggest console manufacturers (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo) were charged with violation of the "joystick patent".
Fenner Investments got the patent in 2001, after requesting it in 1998. Now, the company wants a big compensation for the suffered damage, plus interests for the past years.
Sony and Microsoft earlier dealt with an equal case about the 'rumble' technology. MS then chose the financial solution, Sony didn't.
