Game fans all over, gather and fight against the patent system in the United States.

Yesterday, the three biggest console manufacturers (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo) were charged with violation of the "joystick patent".

The patent for a 'Low-Voltage Joystick Port Interface', describes an analogue stick which outputs to a digital signal and is found in the majority of controllers for home consoles.

Fenner Investments got the patent in 2001, after requesting it in 1998. Now, the company wants a big compensation for the suffered damage, plus interests for the past years.

Sony and Microsoft earlier dealt with an equal case about the 'rumble' technology. MS then chose the financial solution, Sony didn't.

I hate these bitch ass business tactics. Companies search the patents up and down for one that "may" resemble popular products then they rape the companies that are using the technology.

even theough the n64 came out in like 1996, someone gets a "patent" 8 years later and they call for compensation. Our patent system is retarded.
